Cast partial denture
A cast partial denture is a type of removable dental prosthesis used to replace missing teeth, typically when some natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw. It is constructed with a metal framework—commonly cobalt-chromium alloy—onto which acrylic resin and artificial teeth are attached. The metal framework provides strength, durability, and a precise fit, while clasps anchor the denture to the remaining natural teeth for stability. Cast partial dentures offer better comfort, aesthetics, and function compared to acrylic partial dentures, making them a preferred choice for long-term tooth replacement when fixed prosthetics are not viable.
